CBL Chamber of Commerce
As most of you already know, I have some months ago asked the Steering Board to accept my resignation as Chairman of the CBL. The Board has duly accepted my request, and during its session of January proceeded, according to art. 12.2 of the Statutes, with the election of Mrs Bie Heyninck as the new Chairman of our Chamber. Mrs Heyninck will officially assume the Chairmanship as of today, 2nd April.
At the same time Mr Ludo Van den Bergh was elected as second Vice Chairman, in substitution of Mr Meiner, and next to Mr Kobosil who continues in his role as Vice Chairman. Finally, Mr. Klima was co-opted into the Steering Board according to art. 12.3 of the Statures, so that we once again count with a complete team.
Having acted as your Chairman since 2005, I believe the time was right to hand over the torch. Our Chamber enjoys a solid membership base, a healthy financial situation, a dynamic Steering Board. With the 2009 programme we further develop our objective to offer our members a limited but high quality set of seminars and networking events, aimed at supporting you in the development of your businesses, next to the general services offered by our permanent secretariat. My departure as Chairman does thus not mark an end, but simply a continuation of our upward trend ! My personal dedication to the CBL further remains undiminished, and I will continue to function as an ordinary member of our Steering Board.
I would like to thank all of you for the trust that you have awarded me these past years, and in particular wish to express my grattitude to my colleagues in the Steering Board, for their hard work and unfailing support. I Iook forward with confidence to a bright future for our Chamber.
Yours sincerly,
Peter Roebben
